Travel Day – The Topographic
Beauty of County Antrim and the Tragic Beauty of Derry City I got up early and went across the street to the store and got pop tarts for breakfast. Then we went to Giant’s Causeway. We looked around the cliff and took pictures. It was very sunny out and calm that day.
We visited the Dunluce Castle
Then we went to the Carrick-A-Reade rope bridge. I would like to thanks Prof Linda for supporting me on the rope bridge. The bridge wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I think I wasn’t scared enough because I can’t see so it doesn’t feel very high. From the far side we could see Scotland. By the time I walk back across it was windy so it was blowing the bridge sideways a bit. I bought lunch there and ate it on the bus.
We
drove up to Derry with a stop at a big food market. It looked like pick'n
save to me. Pretty much similar. One thing I learned about money in
Northern Ireland, you MUST spend more than £5 to be able to use your
credit card. We then checked into Paddy’s Palace Hostel. That
night we had a group reception and music session with Danny Brown and
other local
Irish musicians. Spencer didn’t like the music, but the food was good. I
had some Coors and met some interesting Irish people on the street. We
went
to a couple pubs and enjoyed the night.
